Raised between Oregon, Germany, and France, Marika has always been fascinated by different cultures and characters.  After studying English at Lewis and Clark College and teaching English for a year in Paris, she received her MFA in acting at DePaul University. She is an actress, teacher, and writer. Acting credits include NCIS, Empire, The Chi, Easy on Netflix, and recurring roles on Amazon's Patriot and the new Amazon series Paper Girls. Her starring role in the feature film Knives and Skin, which premiered at the the Berlin and Tribeca film festivals, was singled out as one of the "Top Ten Performances of Tribeca 2019" by Entertainment Tonight. She is an adjunct Professor at the DePaul Theatre School and an her essay, "And What if Lolita Had a Pen", was recently published by Expat Press. 

Fun fact: in another life she worked in film distribution and once sold the international rights to the Gary Busey comedy Bikini Model Academy to Benelux. Sorry, Benelux.
